Helping children & young people to thrive
How we can support
-

Parent Consultations
Maybe you just need guidance on how to help your child or decide if therapy would be helpful. Parent consultations do just that, dedicated time to discuss your child and your challenges.
-
Child Counselling Ages 4-11
We have supported hundreds of children over the last decade with challenges such as anxiety, school anxiety, loss, behavioural challenges and more.
-
Young People ages 12-18
Young people are navigating so much and trying to find their voice. Counselling provides a safe confidential space in which young people can share their feelings and challenges. We support with anxiety, loss, self harm, depression, peer issues, study stress and school refusal amongst other challenges.
Parent Consultations for Child Therapy
At Circle Therapy, we begin all child therapy referrals with two parent consultations. These sessions are an important first step in ensuring your child receives the right support in the most thoughtful and effective way.
Why parent consultations?
The parent consultations allow us to:
Gain a full understanding of your child’s developmental history
Explore current difficulties and concerns
Consider family context and wider influences
Assess whether therapy is the most appropriate form of support, or whether alternative or additional options may be more helpful
This process helps us avoid rushing children into therapy and ensures that any support offered is carefully tailored to their needs.
What to expect
Parent consultations are held with Gayle, our Clinical Lead and Practice Manager.
Each session lasts 60 minutes
Cost: £85 per session
Sessions can be booked easily via the booking link provided
Next steps after the consultations
Following the two parent consultations:
If therapy is agreed to be a helpful intervention, a suitable therapist and daytime appointment slot will be offered
Your child will then attend weekly therapy sessions, usually for an initial block of six sessions
After this, a parent review session takes place to reflect on progress and discuss next steps
Our approach
We understand that seeking support for your child can feel worrying and emotional. Our aim is to work collaboratively with parents, taking time to listen, assess carefully, and recommend support that feels right for your child and your family.
If you have any questions before booking, please feel free to contact us — we’re always happy to help.
